Does headerwrap smoke

Just got the bike back together and put header wrap on the header and fired it up and it smokes like a bitch from the header. I figure its just the header wrap but just wanna be sure.

I hear it works real well on sport bikes since the header wraps around the oil pan, and it stops the header from dumping heat into the oil

Re: Does headerwrap smoke

all of my boys run wrapped headers we have been doing it since last summer.

it works and its worth it, we got the idea from some track day guys and ill run it on all my bikes.

only downfall is changing your oil you will always get it on the wrap and itll smoke for a bit and wrapping it can be a pain and itchy i recommend wearing latex gloves

+1 but it can't be too hard, it's not like the exhaust is big like on a car/truck. it's only a few feet

the amount of time to wrap it is the same as takin it off and putting it on its not that bad.

just make sure you get the metal wire ties. and over lap constantly by half a width to a quater. you will need more then 25 feet i reccomend getting the 50 foot roll.

http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/co...haust_wrap.php

they have colored. you can get d ei wrap in black and white from autozone or napa
