Re: Need help with SI CAGE

if you have a bench grinder you could turn the 14 mm head into a 13 mm head in about two minutes by slowly and carefully grinding a little off each flat spot on the head of the bolt ..

it's kind of getto but will work in a pinch , i've done it a bunch ...lol

Go to fastenal. They have every kind of bolt. Try Ace hard ware, the one here has more way more nuts and bolts than lowes or home depot does.

Re: Need help with SI CAGE

anyone have a picture of the spacers?

I bought a SI cage off my friend, never came with any hardware.. I ended up making a spacer for the left and right side of the engine mounts.. and used the spacers from my FI cage on the threaded rod...

I took a old socket and cut it in have to use as a spacer for the right side.. bolted up nicely, but took me about 2 hours to put on the cage... It was a b*tch to set the cage up properly..

Re: Need help with SI CAGE

ya i put a SI cage on my f4i and it was a bitch to line up and tighten down right. the sockets not fitting in the tubes gave a problem for sure. its on now but every once in a while i gotta tighten the rod holdin in the back cuz the engine vibrates it loose.

for my f4i, even fastenall didn't have a bolt, they said htey would have to special order it for some crazy *** price

I'd hit up sick innovations if you can't find one.. I'm sure they'll sell you bolts for cheap or maybe even free!

They sell you the whole kit (front mount bolts, rear mount bolts, and lower front) for i think $20+shipping. McMaster Carr has the allen bolts(front engine mount) for the f4i (also fits the 05 636)
