Re: to buy or not to buy
call the inspection place they will tell you. for ohio they told me you need functioning horn, left side mirror, headlight, taillight, and turnsignals and said there job is not to prove the bike/car is safe but mainly to check that all parts match vin's
i got a streetfighterd 636 passed with cage h/b and all good luck with it

Re: to buy or not to buy
I used to sale a lot of salvaged bikes to my dude in NY.
From what I remember NY wanted receipts for all the parts that needed replaced and the VIN #'s of the bike the parts came from if they were used parts. I just made up some receipts for him and he got it done.

Re: to buy or not to buy
whats easier than that is to say you bought as is
and if all you need is a mirror a bought a bicycle mirror from walmart and gave them that and they laughed and said thats ok

Re: to buy or not to buy
Take a ride to vermont and register it there. You just go to the border and register it. No inspection. You can use your real address also. I had my 05 636 done there. Easy...
