FF to Fighter hiding the extra wires?

So i have decided to go from FF to Fighter. i have a 94 900rr and need to find out what to do with the foot and a half of wires that used to be hidden by the faring and so neatly tucked behind the speedo.

Does anyone have any suggestions or pics of what they did to their streetfighter

Should i just trim and remove the excess length of wire? or try to hide it to go FF again one day?

+1 My 929 is fully streetfighter and by fully I mean i dont even have a tail section on it... all my wires are hidden besides my regulator and the wires to it because its OEM spot is on teh outside of the sub frame and thats where it stays... but tuck as much under the tank and behind the main piece of teh side of the frame... and the wires from yoru upper you can ball them up and zip tie them together and then zip tie them to the back side of the street fighter ferring

Re: FF to Fighter hiding the extra wires?

thanks, i didn't want to hack up my wiring harness or anything but i wasn't sure if the wires would fit behind the ferring i wanted to use. i plan on getting the Acerbis Vision headlight, and putting DB setup on. got any pictures of how you got it set up?

I have a buddy with a 900, he did a sweet job of hiding all his wires, I'll see if I can get some pics!

i tucked all my unused wires in my airbox so it gives the air a 12volt charge before entering the throttle bodies my bike is so smooth on idle now

Re: FF to Fighter hiding the extra wires?

I get a good sock and neatly fill it with the harness and zip tie it securely to the cross bar of the frame under the tank. Looks clean as ****. Can't see it at all. Keeps it away from the motor. only the wire to the ignition comes out under the frame by lower triple and i made a good pigtail extention for a street fighter headlight from the factory plug to the light(optional). Dont start hacking. You may need it later. I still go back to FF for a while sometimes, feels more comfortable and looks good. DB set up is easier for me to learn stuff on.

Here are some old pics when i was first converting my bike for the Lot. About to put my bar on. Hope this helps.

Re: FF to Fighter hiding the extra wires?

thanks for the ideas and info. i am going to try putting what i can under the tank and then the rest should fit behind the headlight. i was thinking about getting rid of the speedo and not running anything. but is that legal or does it matter any?

under the tank infront of the airbox is plenty of room!

that was taken the day i got my safety so i could insure it... few months later that POS SI cage broke my motor mount after only ONE CRASH!...

back to the topic, their is TONS of room just use zip ties

Re: FF to Fighter hiding the extra wires?

I'm in the process of doing the same thing to my 00 750.
I've been told to use zip ties and tuck everything.
