Re: Stunting on polished concrete with coke
Hey Johnny P, I didn't stunt on concrete myself because I broke my ankle before the shows.. But my team was there and I was helping applying the coke syrup like and hour before the show and it didnt work really well, we applied thin coats with the sprayer like you have.. The concrete was polished so well and so flat that it was just like ice, and the dust on the floor from the monster trucks was making it worst. The best thing we ended up doing was going at Mc Donald's buy a jug of syrup they use to make their portable orange juice machines. Not all but some MC D here in NB have it, we actually bought a box it had like 4 jugs in it. That stuff is really sticky but maybe you are lucky and wont have monster trucks and dust on the floor.
Re: Stunting on polished concrete with coke
me and brando did a show in Alabama at a moster truck event and had to use that coke **** it works pretty good, just apply a thin coat let it dry good and hit it again maybe do 3-4 coats, make sure you get a big enough patch to pull it up in, there was one small spot that we didnt make big enough and i ended up looping out and my bike slid 100 feet, since there was dirt for the trucks it was twice as slick...id do like a 3 foot by 10 foot spot on each side of the area you are riding in...once your up your all good.
Re: Stunting on polished concrete with coke
Go to a skate shop and get a few sheets of grip tape. Use those to set up a "launch pad". Grip from the syrup is gone in no time, so the launch area becomes slick real fast. Grip tape was the best thing we found to use for that situation.
Re: Stunting on polished concrete with coke
johnny p...how big is your sprayer? go to home depot, buy cheap $15 dollar 1.5 gallon sprayer. then mix 4 liters (2-2 liters)of cheap cola to 8 oz of syrup. Dont use Coke...use the cheap stuff. Sams Cola. Syrup doesnt matter. Buy a cheap 64oz bottle of syrup, maybe 2 bottles depending on # of shows and area. 4 liters plus syrup in sprayer should cover approx 10ft x 200ft.
