Thats basically the way i see it, and whenever these arguments start, thats all i say. i say man this ***** just fun and thats what you should look at it as because making a living from it isnt really practical.
but its always the very last part of that statement that sets off a firestorm. Oh ur hating, and it can be done, look at kane and Jb and all that other good stuff.
I guess stunting as a sport is just really far more important to some people than i realized. i guess its a generational gap thing

then you got youre average street/lot rider that does this as a hobby and for the love and fun of hanging with other guys and making wheelies together nothing more. no competition no stress. dont care about being famous or rich just loving bikes.
theres some inbetween guys that dont really know where they stand just yet but whatever. point is between those two types of riders there lacks some common respect. i dont give a **** about comps i will never go to one. not cuz i lack ability, im just not competitive i didnt start riding wheelies to be better than anyone nor do i now, i do it cuz its fun and i get a boner lol. however the ppl that do want to be famous i give them respect although i dont choose the same path. they do their thing i do mine. just dont **** on me cuz i dont feel stuntriding is a sport and i wont **** on you cuz you quit riding streets and got a famous tattoo a pink mohawk and only do the tricks you know will impress the crowd lol.

i take it like this. theres a few types of riders that ive come into contact with over the years. professional competition/show riders who bust theyre *** and travel everywhere trying to push their "sport" and make it somewhere bigger for themselves and others who want to be like them.

Dude, If you write something in general and explain your reason for coming to the conclusion you came to, then people could read it and take what they want from it without taking it personal. thats the difference. I didnt tell any one specific person what they should or shouldnt do, I just gave my general advice on why "becoming a professional stuntrider" might not be the best idea as a career move. Its no different than if i were to make a general statement about why i think aiming to becaome a rap star isnt the wisest choice, but i wont go around telling everyone dont try to be a pro stunter, or dont try to be a rapper. I just looked at the entire industry and made a general statement about what i saw as limitations in its expanding. ur the one who took it personal and felt that i was trying to "hold everyone back because i can't make it." which is the typical response you would get from someone if you tell them some **** like that personally regardless of if there is solid reason behind what ur saying, people always take **** the wrong way.
How many words do you type a minute??? i would be on here for DAYS just writing the ammount you do!!!! Kudos......

This is what i think the problem is, that alot of people riding and doing stunts today, came right into this when it was already a "sport' as you like to call it. that pic in my avatar was from 03. Im 29 now, and when I actually started riding on the streets back in 98 or so. stunting was just something that evolved on a street level.
Take this for example. Like everyones excited about hollywoods ride because it sounds exciting to them and I can assure you it is gonna be just that! well I was riding the same streets in NYC since back then and remember him b4 he became "hollywood" so he can tell you that that big ride everyones looking forward to is just something that happens every weekend except out of towners are coming in to experience it on that specific weekend. And that is what stunt riding is to me. Just fun, something u do with the people you ride with etc. unfortunately everywhere else doesnt have the same feel as riding in the boroughs, and alot of other people were introduced to this "sport" when it already came to the parking lot and for them all their riding is done in the parking lot. The parking lot for us was just somewhere to practice what u were gonna do on the streets. So to me i never really saw this as a sport, ijust still see it as what it started as. A street thing, and to be honest the "sport" aspect of it and the way people get offended about "their sport" is just *** backwards when i think of it.
But hey, to all those who wish to see "their sport" progress and all that I wish u all the best man, but for me i'll never loose sight of what this was for me 9-10 years ago. Because i really dont want to be a kane or a JB. but now that i got my life handed bak to me. the next time theres an ATL ride, i'll be there for sure. ROC, i wanna make it this year for the first time, and NYC, thats where i'll be all summer, cuz aint no place compares to riding in the burrows.
If you ask me i think the word sport just **** up what it is that we or maybe i should say the people i know do. because I've never seen a sport play itself out on the public roads, and thats where ive always had and always will have the most fun doing anything on a motorcycle. and with that said. im done with this thread.

im old enough to remember when mohawks were a statement of non conformity and to now see them as a statement of sucking on thick ***** by guys with zero originality. LoL I think it's funny that you say I'm non original because I have a mohawk, and I wear dickies.. Hmmm Lets see a picture of your ugly ***.. And what clothes do you wear? Do you have your own shop in your house where you make your own clothes? Cause if not, guess what, Your not original either....
And another thing.. Just cause I have a mohawk and wear dickies, doesn't mean I'm not original.. I make it look better than anyone else.... I'm told all the time "I've seen a grip of mohawks and people with your style, but you pull it off in a totally different way"
