lucas oil treatment good/bad

my bike has about 30000 on the engine. I run lucas in my truck and it does wonders but not sure if it will screw up my clutch. So is lucas bad for a steetbike engine or should i run it?

Re: lucas oil treatment good/bad

how does it run with 30,000 on it? id say if it runs fine, then don't **** with it.

some people say they've run full synthetic or additives and it didn't **** their clutch up, but i personally run nothing but the recommended oil. i think the current standard is sg\sf.

Re: lucas oil treatment good/bad

I've heard mixed reviews about it.. I've heard it can cause oil to foam up making lubrication worse since theres bubbles in the oil...
I've also heard people say it throws off your oils mix.. Your adding one type of thing to your oil (lucas) without balancing it with the other chemicals..

But IDK.. Personally I don't waste my time with it. Although I bet it is good for cold start ups, or when your bike loses oil pressure...

Ya I always hear the same thing, from lots of people who swear by the fact that "fully synthetic that is energy conserving makes your clutch slip"
Yet my last 3 oil changes have been on super tech synthetic that is energy conserving, on my 34k mile clutch lol

I personally think seafoam is great, good stuff to clean out your vacum system and fuel system
Although PERSONALLY I don't trust it in my oil.. But I do knwo people who have ran it in their oil for 50 miles.. I've also heard stories of peoples rod bearings going out when they put it in.. SO I personally ONLY use it on vaccum and gas

btw my friend even ran seafoam through his 480 WHEELE horse power elclipse.. he swears by it!

Put it in, I have an old school motorcycle I put it in and it did wonders. What can screw up the clutch are the oils/additives that have friction modifiers in them (they have a little green gear on the bottle). Lucas has done nothing but good to anything I put it in.
