Marchesini Magnesium Rim?

Just posted on stuntride an got no response..

I picked up my 636 from Dr. Johns Frame Straightning in Anahiem, Ca. This week.
When they were straightning my rims, found out there magnesium..
I've heard bad things in the past..

Anyone have or know someone who has had a bad exprience with these or any other magnesium rim?

On side note I had a decent list of things wrong with my bike, and Dr. Johns did a amazing job at fixing it all.. Rotors, frame, rims(stock an marchesinis) subframe, fork leg, and even my lower fork clamp was bent.

I highly recommend them if you have tweaked parts.. Saved alot of $$$$ by not having to replace basically a whole bike besides the engine.. Haha but her time is coming.. I hear a knockn sometimes haha

Re: Marchesini Magnesium Rim?

don't really know about a mag rim, but at my job(making 4 wheel drive transfer cases). the normal case is aluminum, but the ford heavy duty is magnesium. i would think mag would have much greater strength

Re: Marchesini Magnesium Rim?

i had magnesium marchesisni rims on my 08 zx6r stuntbike and had no problems with em.. they didnt taco or dent as bad as the stock ones do at all
only problem i had was getting the right bolts to mount the rotor hub on correctly..

Re: Marchesini Magnesium Rim?

the billet aluminum rims are going to be much stronger than the magnesium rims and the price tag on the billet is going to be more. but either is going to be stronger than the stock cast aluminum wheels
