Question about 2001 954

If anyone would like to give me their two cents on this bike I am going to look at, I would definitely appreciate it. Like the title says, it is an '01 954. This is the information that I have been given so far.

-Engine replaced with '04 954 engine with probably around 5000 miles on it total now
-has no fairings or guage cluster (streetfightered I guess?)
-has chopped bars, slider cage, 12 o'clock bar, dented tank
-it runs great but also has a hole in the radiator
-salvage title
-is still street legal

So that is what I know, though again I have not seen it to verify anything. If everything is true is $1500 a good price? Anything I should be looking for when looking a stunt bike (expensive things to fix, things that may be dangerous, etc..)? Thanks again for any help or information you guys have.

Re: Question about 2001 954

Alot of mis-information there...

First of all they didn't make a 954RR in 2001, or a 954 Motor in 2004.

CBR929RR is 00-01
CBR954RR is 02-03
2004 to current is CBR1000RR

Re: Question about 2001 954

Cool, thanks for your input. I guess I should have looked up the 04 thing myself. I'll have to ask him what exactly is going on with that.
I'm also yet to get any pictures, I'll bug him about them and see if he can get me some. I was thinking about going to check it out this weekend, but it I keep getting replys like the ones you guys have given me so far I might just stay away. Thanks again.

plus if its salvage title and not reconstructed you may not be able to title it or register it in your state with out first reconstructing it.... check with your dmv.

Re: Question about 2001 954

Ok so I got some pictures. I am not a Honda guy at all, as obvious from my first post about this bike. If anyone has any insight from the pictures that would be great.
It it runs like he says and only has the hole in the radiator, is it worth the $1500? If $1500 is too much, how much would you pay for it?
Also this would be a first stuntbike, I assume I want something that I wouldn't mind eventually destroying. Once again any help is appreciated.

Re: Question about 2001 954

that's 929 bodywork on the bike. the frame on the 929 & 954 are the same so it COULD be a 954 motor.. i personly think the 929/954 is perfect bikes to learn stunts, but alot of people like the f4i. as for the price.. if your only going to use it for lots.. id say buy it.
