damn.. dude was sick as hell..
RIP
not to be a dick.. but I'm surprised we dont hear about this more. These guys push it so hard that its strange we dont hear about more deaths or paralysis accidents.
His crash in 07 was horrible too.. the vid from Costa Rico was disgusting. I feel horrible for his family having that vid all over the internet. my thoughts go out to his friends and family. Dude was a great rider

Either way, there's been a lot of crashing, IIRC Ryan Villipoto crashed out in Anaheim because they had no practice time on the track and it was muddy.
It's usually kept quiet if it's a less known rider, and when it's a known rider a PR person massages the story.
The good thing in all the bad is Jeremy's loss has galvanized the riders to push for their safety concerns to be addressed in his name. A sweet tribute, making things happen.

Re: Jeremy Lusk died at 24yrs old
My fmx/supercross agent says the venues have been getting worse and worse, no one listens when the riders complain about conditions, and they barely had any practice time on that track.

As for Villipoto and not having enough time, every rider gets the same amount of time to practice and run his hot laps. Villipoto crashed during practice and rode off then ate **** in his heat race in the same spot. 20 other riders made it to the main Villipoto didn't due to lack of skill in the rain.
Its Freestyle there is no way to prevent someone from the inevitable. Hence why it pays so much, hence why people watch it.
Lusk was a killer dude and his wife is probably one of the nicest people you'll ever meet thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Re: Jeremy Lusk died at 24yrs old
Your fmx/supercross agent is wrong none of that can be blamed on the venue. fmx riders are given the gap distances they all walk the venue before the big show then take runs before anything happens all the ramps are set in place and agreed on before they even start the event. 90% of the time Lusk was the one who was the first to hit everything.

Some things do need to change. especially abroad, but also here. I'm glad to see people are working to see to their own interests, and in Jeremy's name looking after the interests of competitors to come.
The guy I've got in dirt is a pro AMA Supercross racer, he was at more than one event where the riders safety hasn't been taken into consideration. He wasn't wrong, I just had information overload.
Let's get back on track, Jeremy Lusk will continue to do great things through those who knew him best, and that comforts me.
