I would guess that the number of riders making a comfortable living off of stunt riding - without any supplemental income - is rather low in proportion to the number of overall people in the sport.

I wouldn't think people are getting into this sport with the idea of getting rich.

there are probably like 5 people that can pay their bills off of stuntriding. might as well just sell crack like me. if u get caught you get free room and board for awhile.

 

im not pro nor is my mom but my chick once told me she would pay me to not go riding

seriously thinking about going into FMX... could get paid alot more much easier. but i dont think il ever give up this sport i like it to much.

 

i doubt too many people think they are gonna make a living at stunting but your logic doesn't jive , how many people play basket ball compaired the # of pro players ...

i would bet the ratio in stunting is much better

I wouldn't suggest anyone quit their job to try to live off of stuntriding. but truthfully..
If I could make 25-30k a year stunt riding it would be worth it.

 

Im a pro....last year i made $425.00 straight cash. No sponsors either....thats right notta one.

 

This question comes up about once a year and never actually gets answered. I always wondered why it doesnt get answered. Thats and even better question

 

because it would kill their rockstar status to know that you work everyday at work and blow their earnings in the dirt.

The way that I look at it is anyone who makes enough to have a decent life and do the ******* sport/hobby that they love to make the money and go around seeing the world and murdering it for a living. Offsets 10s of thousands of dollars in salary.

So someone just ****** man up and throw out ur w2 from last year

 

not gonna mention any names but there are alot of riders that make more then that a year from just riding and i know one that makes about 75 k a year and there are probably some that make even more , what do you think britton makes a year more then 30k you can bet

if you commit , ride hard and get an agent making a living at stuntriding shouldn't be too hard but i for one wouldn't want to travel that much

 

I wouldn't call fmx easier, I've been riding dirtbikes my whole life and as far as danger goes, I'm gonna say fmx is more dangerous and a higher chance of serious injury. Unless your squidding it up on the street, then your chances for injury and/or death skyrocket!

 

the more i make the more i spend at the end of the day my saving account is pretty pitiful.

well.... we can start with the factory sponsored guys... im sure they do well... if they've been on TV.. they do exceptionally well... if they have thier own show... even better...im sure theres more people than you would think that make good money being a ballerina on a bike ..

 

ive been riding dirbikes to and its all the same u just have alot farther of a fall off of a big jump. yea your probably gona get hurt worse when you fall but i dont think getting hurt bothers any of the stunters ive met. plus i like to do flips it would be perfect for me. i would be able to book plenty of shows. and make that extra ten bucks i was talkin about earlier
