master cylinder

anybody running a different master cylinder for the rear brake on the bars like a gsxr1000 or vtr1000 etc? bremdos are abit prizey! its for my 03 636.. cheers

Try a newer R1, cbr 1krr, gsxr1k something along those lines, make sure it's radial

scince the thread is already posted can i ask why it has to be radial and not anything else? i know because of fitment issues but is it because of the sheer difference in strength?

piston size is really what makes the diffrence... bigger piston in the master the more solid feel it has.. but too big could mean having to wrench on the brake to get it to work decent.. the smaller it is makes the lever much easier to pull and lock up the brakes. i run a 13mm magura and can lock rear tire up with 1 finger its like butter!

It is partially because it allows for a bigger bore without increasing space on the bar. Also it has to deal with consistancy of braking power in relation to force applied to the lever.
