Re: Helicoil

Pep boys and NAPA carry them. Thats where I got mine. But they both only have 15 mm long ones which is what I used and its holding up fine.

cant you just put a nut on the back of all the motor mount bolts on the F4i?

Re: Helicoil

Re: Helicoil

you can stack the helicoils. also if two will be too long, you just count the treads and trim off what you dont need off the top of the last one you are putting in with cutting pliers and install. very simple to do and its better then not having enough threads to bite on.

Re: Helicoil

What he said, and no they do not lock in. There are some styles of thread inserts that do, but helicoils just thread in with the tool that comes in the kit

only on the left side

on the right side its too thin, and the only way to nut/bolt it is with a jam nut, which isn't as strong

mines nut and bolted, it sucks *** I gotta pop the tank off and wedge my little arms under the throttle bodies to remove the nuts..

Plus my jam nut breaks every once in a while, and then I gotta pull the tank to install a new one
