im looking to buy a 03 gsxr the guy said he dose not have a title for the bike but will give me a bill of sale. my ? is could i get busted for having a stolen bike if that may be the case? it would just be a parking lot rider but if the cops roll up i need something legal.

 

Ask for the VIN and run it.

If you don't got a title for the bike. Then legally the bike is not yours. Even if VIN comes back as clean you technically still don't own the bike without the title.

So yes if you buy a bike with no title and cops catch you you will risk being caught with stolen property.

Bill of sale is worthless really.
