Re: What do you think of this bike?

Guy says it runs and drives fine. Im gonna have to look at the subframe when i get there. It seems priced high for its shape and really no stunt mods. I know a lot of guys on here have stunt ready bikes for the same price is my only hold up. I'll probably offer the guy in the 1500-1800 range and see what he says. Everyone on here with stunt ready bikes are just to far away.

Re: What do you think of this bike?

yea you can get a stunt ready bike for cheaper, but half the fun is personalizing the bike yourself to fit your riding style. the 636's are good stunt bikes ( coming from someone who stunts a gixxter). i havent heard of many stunters from new mexico so finding one stunt ready would be difficult. try arizona or here in texas

Re: What do you think of this bike?

It looks like there is no clip on on the right fork??

I'd almost bet the forks are tweaked too, or something is up the way he's got them turned for the pic of the bike facing at you.
if you got the money and aren't going to be wasting eachother's time then it's worth driving to his house and taking a peek probably, but I wouldn't pay a penny over $1,800. and that's ONLY if it has a clean title too!
good luck.

Re: What do you think of this bike?

if everythings straight like he says, I'd do $2k.

check the radiator tabs, I bought a bike in that condition and both the top tabs were ripped from the impact, didnt notice it until I got home

That bike looks tucked. If it is, then forget about it. There will be more deals in the winter.

Re: What do you think of this bike?

It does kinda look like there is no clip on the right side now that you mention it. Could just be the crappy photos. Im gonna go look at it tonight i think since he's only about 45 mins away from me. They way he talkes it is a clear title, im not gonna be shocked if it isnt a salvage title though. Still easily registerable here in NM though. Im thinkin' like you guys, probably no more than 1800. I dont have a problem getting it stunt ready because it is nice getting the parts that best fit you. We just dont have ANY other stunters down here in southern NM so parts all have to come off the web.

Re: What do you think of this bike?

looks like a lot of work. The subframe is tweeked and both cases have marks on them so I would say it tumbled.

Re: What do you think of this bike?

Well it was even a little rougher than expected. Missing the brake reservoir, rear set and brake level on the right side, bent brake lever, no gauges, tweaked rear subframe, and what appeared to be a bent clip-on on the right side. I passed on this one.

Re: What do you think of this bike?

Man, that bike looks beat to death. And half the bike is there so it could only be worth half what a whole bike is worth minus a bit if that clip on is missing or the front is tucked. I would start at $1500 and see if he bites. If not, leave him your phone number and tell him to call you if he changes his mind.
No plastics, whole front upper is gone, tank is ruined, engine covers nailed, etc. Hope he doesn't really think it's worth $2500.

Re: What do you think of this bike?

Sad thing is, it has a clean title ( not hard to accomplish in NM ) and he'll hang onto it and patch it up and sell it as never being wrecked most likely. Or just say it was dropped in a driveway and he polished it up. I know this because he showed me some that he'd done already. He said " he wouldn't go lower than 2k because he could put new plastics on it and polish up the covers, replace brakes etc and sell it for 4800" Thats to quote him... Some poor sap will get ahold of it thinking he's got a cherry . I was gonna start around 12-1500 once I saw it but as highly as he was talking of all his bikes I knew he wasnt gonna negotiate . Waste of my time.
