F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
You finally made it????????? DUDE! I totally want one!!!!!!
I dont see any flaws in having 2 fans? I wish I had 2! last weekend my fan came unplugged and my fuse blew and my temp went to 254F....... a second fan hard wired to the battery with a bling bling toggle switch would be money in situations like that, and would be premo for hot summer days!
Is there any way to make a whole perimeter frame for the radiator?

Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
good stuff the cage makes sense but **** i live in southern california and it gets to 105 out in the summer and my fan isnt even wired to stay on all the time and i have never had any over heating probs and i do rev limit coaster all ****** day.
Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
**** i might get one then,,,,,,, also the new fan rubed on the pipe and was loud as ****,,,,,,, and two fans sounded louder then the bike idleing,,, it was like a jet motor,,,,, you should switch one of them,,, so if its cold you can turn it off
Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
thats what i meant. long day. Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
ya you can rig it how ever you want it. im thinking about selling a wiring kit with it but im not sure yet..
Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
Any year i need the bike to make a full setup cage subcage 12 and round bar. I get people asking for parts all the time for these bikes and i cant get my hands on one. ill PM you my phone #
Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
wait a second, the cage mounts just to the TOP of the radiator? It doesn't support the bottom or it DOES support the bottom?
Also how thick is that steel? I used 1"x1/8" on my friends radiator, and that **** just bent after a couple crashes..
Cage looks dope though, I like how you mounted the second fan.. I've been meaning to get out and put my second fan on, but didn't have any ideas on how to build the tabs to hold it
Btw heres a couple pics of my cage, and a couple pics of my friends cage.. just to help people out!
radiator cages are a MUST unless you want to replace your radiator after a few dozen hard drops
(btw MY cage on my bike is ghetto.. I used steel I had laying around the garage, didn't buy anything.. But my radiator is mounted ROCK SOLID..
I used 12 bar material for part of it

Heres pics of the radiator cage I built for my friends bike.. His radiator tabs were completely gone when he bought his f4i.. So I had to build something to support the entire radiator.. If I did it again though, I'd use thicker steel so it doesn't bend

(btw not stepping on your toes, im not selling mine lol, just showing people pics to give them ideas)

Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
636 radiators come stock with a place to mount a 2nd fan
I agree the 2nd fan is pointless, but everyone I know has to run zip-ties because their tabs ripped off
+1,except for the rev limit part,I'll leave that to the pros
Nice!, If I ever get a new radiator I'll have to set mine up like that

Re: F4i Dual Fan Radiator Cage
I've already made one too... mine is a full wrap cage, steel all the way around w. steel upper tabs.. They are super easy to make if you have some basic welding ability
