Trying for 200mph+ at The Texas Mile!
Re: Trying for 200mph+ at The Texas Mile!
We'll see how it goes. Trying not to be to over optimistic! Sounds crazy, but if you research it a bit, it takes large amounts of hp to increase mph when you approach the 200 mark. Factory speedos are known to be roughly 20 or mph slower than your actual speed. Texas Mile is a bit different as well, its 1 mile with a 3/4 mile shut down. The speed traps are in the last 132ft of the mile, so it turns out to be a mile drag race. I am really hoping to be around 225, but the bike may be a bit under powered for that! But I am just going to grip it and Rip It!

Yeah, its also 100% streetable, lights, signals, the whole deal, so its going to be a bit heavy in the land speed world. We tried saving weight with Carrozeria wheels, and some SICK carbon rotors courtesey of Brake Tech, and tried reducing some drag with ceramic bearings. I will also be fasting for 2 weeks before the attempt to save as much weight as possible!

jeff binder got 194 mph on my 04 r1 2 years ago! this was done with -1 and +2 gearing! and he never touched the nos! we also used a radar gun. i am going to put stock gearing on it, and we will use the juice this time.. i think he can hit 200 mph this time! and no, this bike is not stock! we will video this as well! good luck joe!!! cant wait to see the video.

ya, i just like to be able to shorten it back for the canyon days, thats why i use the extensions. the bike spent some time at schnitz racing for the motor work, and custom map. of course it has all the other various upgrades as well. im running a 40 shot of nos on it right now. it put up 194 hp at the wheel on the dyno without the nos! when are you going for the 200 mph? i hope to have mine set up for another go at it here real soon.
