Learning slow wheelies - Frustrated
Learning slow wheelies - Frustrated
Hi Guys,
So I am working on slow wheelies but it seems like forever that I have been workin on it. This is the hardest and longest trick I ever had to learn. I can do 2nd and 3rd gear combos all day but 1st gear slow wheelies I can't get down. I can clutch it up and ride it at about 35mph but I can seem to get down to the 20 rage. I know im suppose to use the back brake but I can;t quite find the balance of gas and brake and balance point.
My set up is -1 in the front +2 in the back and its a 05 GSXR 600.
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
If you live in the San Jose CA area and think u can teach me sometime shoot me a line.

Re: Learning slow wheelies - Frustrated
just keep practicing!
And make sure you practice EVERY SINGLE DAY if possible.. I feel its better to practice say 5 minutes a day EVERYDAY, then it is to practice 1 days a week for 5 hours..
I try to get out and ride at LEAST 10 minutes a day, if not 30+ minutes a day

Re: Learning slow wheelies - Frustrated
Best advice I could give would be to try and clutch 'em up from almost a dead stop, just enough momentum that you can square yourself up for the clutch up. Bump your idle up a bit and cover the RB!! Hit the brake while your in a decent wheelie, just so you know how it feels......do that 100+ times. Its gotta become your natural reaction to hit that brake when you get that "oh, ****" feeling. Lower your tire pressure to about 15-18 psi.......and PRACTICE! Good luck!

i'd prolly run the idle at about 2000 1500 to high with that gearing makes for stalls. and by the sounds of it your not bringing it up quick enough.. you shouldn't try slowing them down, try clutching it right to bp catch it with the brake, you'll mouse trap a few times till you get the right brake pressure to stop it not chop it. listen to towliee get out and practice alittle everyday.
