that **** happened to my gsxr 1000 and i got suzuki to replace my bike it took almost 10 months to get them too but i went from an 06 1000 to a new 07 1000

Loose weight, they have gained weight since 01. 2001=437lb vs 2006=444lb wet
408lb vs 415lb dry

true, i never had problem with my old 02 1000 besides little spyder cracks on the bottom of the neck, wrecked it bad to, looped it at about 50mph

It seems like every gixxer I see is MINTY other then the fact its in 2 pieces

Whereas any other bike I see that snaps, is destroyed and went through hell

05 and up they went to all cast aluminum frames witch suck for strength.

Im surprized the older ones were lighter, I had an 02 gix1 I really liked that bike, tons of power but it did have a tankish feel to it, but it was so stable in fast wheelies.

Cast pieces are cheaper to produce and easier than the old extruded frame pieces that the old gixxers had, but the down side is the cast piece are not as strong as the extruded ones

For sure my 02 was so stable at speed, could walk all over that bike and it would go straight, felt so safe
