Cage is just to save the engine. Dirt bikes bounce... and the motor doesn't stick out wide enough to hit the ground unless you land on a rock or something (not likely in a lot or on the street). I don't think you need a cage on a DB. just my thoughts though

i realize that they usually bounce and that the engine wouldnt really be in danger i just thought itd be nice to have something that it could fall and scrape on that wasnt the plastics or didnt cost me more than a replacement slider puck... it was just a thought i just wanted to see if anyone knew anything that would work or if it was even worth my time :YEAH

On the DRZ you HAVE to have case saver or some type of cage or rails. ON the DRZ you WILL send the shifter or break pedel right through the case and on the DRZ its an EXPENSIVE fix. One or 2 drops and its done without protection.

Dont belive me?

If you keep your shifter bent out, and watch it you shouldn't have issues..

It's when people drop there bikes repeatedly and let it hit the case that you develop issues

If the shifter or brake pedal is going to hit the case in a crash just weld a washer on the back of them to spread the load.
