what do you consider "hardcore stunting" exactly? because i know of a few guys doing circle combos, jump to spreaders from a stop, rolling endos, drifting, etc. on the 06/07 gsxrs and none of them have had frame problems that I know of.

i'm still learning the basics myself but i definately still crash a lot, and again, no problems.

dont scrape out on the subframe and youll be fine...my bro has a 06 636 and my 06 gsxr feels almost identical...but to each his own...any newer bike is gonna be weak for stunting, they arent designed for that ,they are designed to be light as **** for tracks and so on...as far as carnage,i ride the **** out of both my 06 gsxr s and so far no frame issues..but i do rock a steel subframe on my lot 06...

I probably mean more like hardcore failures. Not stunting, persay. It's the drops that hurt. I just hear a lot of negative feedback about GSXRs, not sure if it's biased hearsay or what.

Thanks for the feedbacks Alicia, loogie.

I plan on armoring the hell out of this ride. aftermarket subframe, or at least a subcage and such.

Re: 2006 Gsxr 600/750 cages.

I was on here earlier bragging about my 905 cage before i beat it up enough...

I was out practicing last night and i scraped the 12 bar and jumped off right before it pancaked onto the left side of the bike. only dropped the bike 3 times on the same side.

It bent the cage upward ( from rolling forward and pancaking at the same time.)
So it bent at the front engine mount and bent the whole cage with it. and its binding a little bit on the bottom cross bar..

SO OVER ALL IT PUSHED THE CAGE UP ABOUT AN 1"-2".

looks like ill be trying out a different cage brand after this one gets fully mangled, or give aaron of 905 racing a challange to fix it..

Looks Like they should of beefed up the steel on the cage mounts...

So has this happened to your 905 cages???

So how did you manage to break off the two bottom mounts....

well looks like im going to order a powers and have it as a back up just cause i know that my 905 is guarantied so can sent it in later when its fully mangled but ill end up switching to powers, so by the time it comes ill be needing it to throw on.

thats cause all they use is thick washers welded to the main mounts. And the worst part is i see more than one cage company doing this. thats y i use 1and 1/4in solid steel inserts in my cages and drill them out. that way the cage cant twist away from the mounts. when you sit back and look at any cage you can find all kinds isues with them. you just gota no what your looking for.

Ya i noticed the thick washer that they welded to the tube to cap it off for a main mount. poor design.

So when you used the 1-1/4" insert, did you fabricate it on a lathe or did you buy it? have any pics of it? was it also on a 905 cage that you did this to?

cause now you gave me an idea to do that but now will have to go and buy longer engine mount bolts....

No man i make my own cages i made about 6 different designs so far and iv come up with one that is :YEAH. It looks good and is just the ****. you can drop it with out sliders and the cage wont dig or role up on the bars. Plus it is strong as hell. Ill have a link and pics up on hear in a month or so im in the process of making them and selling them. But I dont want to be like some people i have seen and start selling stuff i dont have And about the 1-1/4 steel incerts i have a 20ft stick of it and just cut and weld what i need. If you can weld i can sell you couple of them to shove in your cage to make do? Which 905 you got the new or old?
