Carfax Does **not** Tell You If A Bike Is Hot

gentlemen, I thought Id let everyone know that carfax does not report stolen vehicles. I got cuffed the other day because I was running a frame that CarFax logged in as 100% clean but was an oven mitt special.
I bought a frame off another forum and i put it on the 636, and i got pulled over at a light for not having mirrors and the VIN got run and I got arrested. Luckily the Commonwealth attorney believed my story and i got no charges at the end of the day, because I had saved all my paperwork.

LESSON 1- DONT RELY ON CARFAX
LESSON 2- SAVE ALL YOUR PAPERS-RECIEPTS/PAYPAL/SHIPPING ETC

I ran it again to show the trooper, and it came back clean again.

This actually happend to me on another F4i frame, CarFax logged it as clean, and my cop buddy ran it and it was hot.

thats the problem is theres nothing to utilize for motorcycle research. carfax is only good for cars trucks and vans, and mostly newer ones. my f100 is not a 17 digit vin so even it doesnt even show on there. and even still theres shady stuff going on when it comes to car dealers washing titles and it not even showing up on the carfax. they will get something that was flooded and then go through loopholes to disguise the history of the vehicle. its a good reference but not something to depend on. i wont buy anything from now on unless both of us go to the dmv and get it checked out. they can usually pull up a decent amount of info on a bike vin.

ive had cops run the vin on me before and then bust me for mirrors, turn signals, and improper license plate mounting all because i have a 12 bar on my bike and they were haters. i fought it in court but i paid the lawyer prettymuch the same as the tickets were. eh, it felt good to win nonetheless.

i have never been pulled over for no mirrors and in Mi you do not have to have turn signals you just have to use hand signals
