I may want one to have as a backup. I rarely hit it hard but then again I'm just waiting for that 1 mistake

Only time will tell, but you should give them to squids to test not pros like DJ and Guru Cause I doubt they smash tail as much as other people will....Im sure its beef, it just looks real weak compared to the rest of it...

I rarely ever slam the tail or scrape becuase the the stock subframes are junk! I broke 7 subframes by just clutching it up with my foot in the bar! If you are just learning to stunt ride and like to gorilla scrape your tail, you had better call Dave and have him build you a subframe asap!

Re: 05-06 636 SubFrames

Why not continue the rail from the rear another few inches and weld it to the side of the existing tube? That looks like a weak link. I understand you are going for a stock look but shouldnt you beef it up a little more than just changing the materials its made from?

So when his last one broke there, I bent the cast part back down(the other side broke while I was doing that)....And welded a plate over top to prevent it from being able to bend up and snap....And its been good so far, but Im waiting for it to start giving on the sides next....

That aftermarket sub looks great, except for that skinny part at the back where my friends keeps breaking....I understand that steel not cast aluminum, but that still looks very weak to me.
That looks like a good quick fix. That break at the rear is what I'm having problems with. No more FIS though.

I could cut a hole in that plate for FIS, this guy doesnt even have a hole in his seat so I just left it like that.....We still havent seen any cracking at that sides yet, just at the back at the skinny part....And its TIG welded all the way around on both sides, so that rear section isnt going anywhere

Re: 05-06 636 SubFrames

mine all broke where the square tubing stops coming back from the frame. c-4's design takes the square tubing all the way back to the cast part of the stock subframe.

You all need to just trust me when I say they are strong and fit stock there is more to it then the pics show and your pic of welding the two bars side by side will not work. Guys there is $2500.00 into the engineering of this 1 sub so there is nothing stronger than the way it is made now. I tried all the ways you are saying to make it it did not work. So trust me it is the **** and IS STRONG. thanks WE AT C4 know what we are doing computer and strength testing all gos into the making of the parts not like any other company we are the best out there so if we make it you should buy it.

Steel innovations here in Atlanta makes them for your bike. They are sick and hold up!! I have seen them in action first hand.

Re: 05-06 636 SubFrames

I may be wrong, but there has to be a "weakest link," correct? If this sub is so strong, doesn't that mean there are more chances of breaking the frame before the sub - just wondering? I'd rather buy more sub's than frames.

these are high quality strong replacements, not fuckng unbreakable subframes, if that was the case then u would just kill the frame, these are also steel which will make it easier to fix in a hurry yo, watup dave
