F4i---Tape Airbox VS. Ram Air Tubes
Re: F4i---Tape Airbox VS. Ram Air Tubes
ummmm yea you can buy them for my pipe.....i got a yosh, carbon fibre deally-pooh ****. it's chopped bout 2/3ds down, the glass pack is out and it's really raspy and snappy...it's the one FOR the pip itself was lijke 27bucks.......would like to take it out or re-pak my pipe....
if you cut ur stock pipe you may not be able to buy one yet if you drill out ur rivets and re-pack ur pipe it may help to keep the cops off ur tail ...i'm actually really surprised i havn't gotten a noise violation yet.

Re: F4i---Tape Airbox VS. Ram Air Tubes
I actually ran the exhaust under the tail and I'm using a '07 R6 can. It looks super sick and its out of harms way. I had a chopped Yosh which was just to loud and I figured the stock R6 can would be quieter seeing that it comes on a stock bike. But I later realized that on the new R6 the "muffler" is built into the header and the can doesn't do much baffling.

Re: F4i---Tape Airbox VS. Ram Air Tubes
the ducts look ugly and get in the way. That's the only difference.
6" of tubing that is the same diameter as the box openings will not change airflow to increase low end torque. Increasing or decreasing intake flow doesn't affect torque like increasing or decreasing exhaust flow.
Tubes are made for 2 reasons on bikes. You can look this up on any manufacturers design reasons: They lower engine noise (big part of it) and increase air pressure via ram air at higher speeds. Low speeds will have no effect because the motor will still be "drawing" air in verses being forced.

This guy knows what he's talking about, the biggest reason is the high speed.
