The only company i knew of was Scrape Works, but i don't know if they are in Business anymore. The website doens't work atleast.

I wouldn't suggest welding the subframe, its one of the worst subframes on a bike. Its the **** *** Cast Aluminum and Cast welds like ****.

I think Powers is making subties. I dont think they will work with anything but their Subcages though. Which is not a bad investment anyways.

I believe tig welding is for aluminum and mig welding is for steel. Not sure though. I dont know much about welding.

And theres another guy on here making aftermarket subframes. There was a thread not to long ago in the stunt sections. His looked strong as **** like the scrapworx ones. IF you search you should be able to find it. Im pretty sure hes making them for the 05gix6 too.

Re: need a new subcage

Have yours welded the buy a SON DOOBY reinforcement for it with a bar. It's not worth the money to buy a factory one on ebay if it's just for a stunt bike.

Re: need a new subcage

tig welding is for everything that needs to be absolutley PERFECT!
mig or stick doesn't matter they can weld rusty metal or clean metal. i usually tig weld everything that i possibly can unless exhaust systems which i don't care what it looks like. but tig is the strongest and prettiest weld you can produce. tig weld

Re: need a new subcage

dont wast ur time welding that thing its a POS. if u plan on keeping the bike as a stunt bike just save the headache and money and buy an aftermarket steel one. for the money u wast on welding it 200 times and the braceing and this and that ull be out more in the long run.

Re: need a new subcage

I have a buddy that's a machinist and a welder he's gonna see what he can do with it, its free so it'll be worth a shot, measuring from my 12 bar its tweaked about an inch also but riding seasons will be about done here in a month or so and I wanna get rolling soon it should be ok for now I wiegh about 200lbs but if I don't scrape I'm hopin to get thru til he can build me a steel one or I can afford an aftermarket one. I'll post up before and afters when I get it back, thanx guyz

Re: need a new subcage

Better off welding it or looking for one on ebay or craigslist, cause a new subframe will run you a few hundred bones.

Re: need a new subcage

whatever you do though, you might want to get a subframe cage when you fix the subframe.....
