NO dual caliper, NO adapter, BYpass rear master

Instead of the dual caliper bracket and having two calipers, has anyone ever just run a double banjo bolt on their stock rear caliper. Then run both their foot and handbrake lines off of that single caliper??

Seems like it would work, anybody tried this?

I've actually tried it. Standup's right. It doesn't work. When you squeeze the HB, it pressurizes your footbrake res, and vice versa. You need an adapter.

why does somebody think they've somehow magically thought of a solution that has never been considered by anybody else? if it was so simple, i wonder why intelligent minds like bill mcmahon missed it all along.

When you used your handbrake it would push the fluid to the rear caliper and back to the foot brake mc and into the fluid resovoir and when u used the footbrake it would just push fluid up into the handbrake fluid resovoir.

Re: NO dual caliper, NO adapter, BYpass rear master

There is ONE OTHER WAY TO DO IT......

You make an adapter for the HB master where the resivoir use to be, then run a line from the foot output to the adapter, then from the HB master to the rear caliper, BUT then you only have the strength to the lever pivot and housing against all the force your foot brake creates + You have to run twice the amount of brake lines and you have a chance of your HB master busting the mount for the lever and then you crash and maybe die.........

This is basically the concept of Fullthrottles new remote HB. Your foot brake pushes against the hb master till it hits the stop.(hence the reason for the slack in the cable) Only the FT is made from billet and stronger than it would ever need to be to withstand the force created by the foot brake.

SO save you self some pain and just buy a dual caliper, adapter, and dont BYpass the rear master

Re: NO dual caliper, NO adapter, BYpass rear master

the main reason for dual calipers is if ya wreck out and trash your HB master your ***** gonna drain out and ya have no back brakes. with dual caliper you still have a seprate system for the foot. and if your HB isnt strong enuff you can put a hotter pad in there and not **** up your foot skills. and its the most baller thing you can do. lol..

I think I;m about to step up my baller status.

I already have the Fullthrottle cable kit (wich I love) and I think I'm gonna add a dual caliper setup along with it.

This thing is awesome once you get it bled right and combining that with the dual setup reliability It should be ULTRA
