i had to weld my F4i tank all you do is fill it with water while you weld.

your full of **** and all these other ********* are retarded for believing you. you can clearly see where you welded a piece of round bar to the back of your tank and then tried to bondo it in.

 

yea, he just welded on a little lip, so what, ive sat on the bike and i can tell u the tank is awsome!!!

What are you talkin about?? I'm being serious.. I'm an idiot who just started learning how to weld proper and I want to know why would you fill it with water while you weld?? Not sure why, but it doesn't sound like a good idea to me....

I dunno... I guess I welded in the rain some so you couldn't get shocked by it... can you break it down for me please stock?

I also heard that you have to have the tank relined once you weld on it at all cuz it cooks the lining off the inside and it'll rust after a short while...

And a K6 gix tank wasn't really that hard to dent IMO... sorry the pics are so damn big... but as you can see, I really didn't get too too deep with mine. I could've bondoed up the lip taller like everyone else does, but hell, just some surf board pad and it's golden!!


Now if you wanna ship yours to KS, I'll do your tank up for ya, but there is a "post pic's of your tank dents here" thread that is a sticky I think...
There is alot of good info and pics in there, and you can see I posted up a bunch of progression pics of every like 5 minutes from the last tank dent that I did on my F4ez. Use the right equipment and go slow and you should be fine. don't worry about a crack or something...**** happens, and although it's not exactly what you wanted, it's not unrepairable....

 

spreaders are in the rider, not the tank.

 

no doubt! I was rockin spreaders on a stock zx9, NO tank dent while doing shows in 2002. Granted they help but its in the rider.

 

Yep. And you gotta think about how your dent will affect other tricks like combo-ing out of the tank and jumping to spreader. A huge lip on the dent can be painful if you hit it wrong!

 

yea... you don't need a dent for spreaders.... pfffft.

Yeah, you can see under the roundbar a hole n the bondo where they did not get it filled in. You can make it look pretty good without bondo, but no paint flexes enough to not crack when it flexes that far.
