i have an 06 yamaha r6 that only has 1700 miles on it with factory dunlop sportmax tires and they started to crack and separate. front was really bad so i replaced it now i noticed the rear doing this. has anyone had this problem and is this considered faulty tires.

 

prolly an OLD set...they have a warehouse full of em...

 

are they actually SEPERATING? Or just cracking??

My tires are cracked all over the sidewalls, doesn't keep me off them


edit: but ya, oooold tires... a 06 with only 1700 miles on factory tires, they are old as can be..

 

if youre any kind of a stunter tire should only be lasting you 1 week anyways, my .

 

ride the damn thing so u have to replace them and they dont sit around and dry rot

 

I 2nd the last post. It's b/c the tires are old. You should put more than one set on in 2-3 years. Hell, you should at least put 1 rear on every month during summer and spring if you ride.
1700 miles in over 2 years, the shame.

 

i bought the bike wrecked a few months ago and have fixed it up and started riding it i dont stunt it its my minty. but yea im guessin its just from sittin around thanks

 

their cracking in the center o the tread not on the sides a dealer told me their separating

 

DON'T use a tire shine product

 

sell me that piece, ya they are old, thats a shame too, expensive tires
