so i have seen threads about this before.

people geting underbid for shows.

well it just happened to me for the first time
i was asked 3 or 4 months ago an am on the flyer...
then i see a myspace bulltion with them "adding more riders"
basically who will drive on there own dime...... or so is my understanding
and the worst part is my price was supercheap anyway especially for it being far distance an with fuel costs basically riding for free, an food/hotel/fuel were covered..... just for the exposure.


i still hope it works out so im not listing any specifics, but i thought id share with you fine people since im bored.....

we just got out of a big argument with some promoters we are doing a show for they tryed to say they were giving us the opertunity to stunt infront of hundreds of people like that was something special and we said **** that, finaly after the boycot one of the promoters is going to pay us out of his own pocket, its bullshit everyone acts like there doing you a favor and not making any money from it

An appearance agreement is a legal binding contract that locks in a promoter for a set price 1/2 down at the date the deal is made. 1/2 when the show is done. make sure to include travel, perdiem, and all stipulations etc... the default is if the buyer/promoter hires on other help or cancels the day of the show for no reason you can sue for the full default ammt mine is set at 5k in country 40k out of us (for the reason a us attorney wont pursue small claims internationally)

 

its a damn good idea to have a default retainer like that! and im pretty sure its enforcable in court too

Written agreement stating date, times, riders, allowances, etc. NON Refundable deposit $50 to book the date. Travel expense due before the date of the event. IF for any reason out of control of the team on the day of the event that the riders cannot perform they are to be paid in full if on site. If prior to the show the event is canceled another $50 deposit will be taken to secure another date.

 

If this is the show I think its for, I don't think you shouldve posted this. Theres eyes everywhere and someone might mention this thread to them.

 

I Simply require half down when they book the date or have a canclation fee depending on who I am DJ'ing for. To many people will book you and then look around and find some low ball guy with a boombox and cancle on you. so after a couple of those I learned my lesson. With bigger events and what not I require half down and with smaller stuff I usually am a little more lieniant.

But I would definatly listen to what Tony L wrote. Sounds way more professional and more specific to our sport.

Looks like some people are finally getting smart and having lawyers draft up their contracts so promoters can't **** them over.

 

your only shooting everyone else and yourself in the foot for doing it "super cheap"

what we do is marketable, and worth much more then you think.

have some confidence in yourself, your level of professionalism, and your riding when you are negotiating fees and shows.
