bike ran b4 i took the tank off to get painted, reassembled the tank.... no hard... fuel lines and fuel pump switch. Now the fuel pump wont turn on and when hot wired it works so its not the fuel pump and all the fuses in the fuse box are good. Is there a fuse or relay for the fuel pump somwhere else on this bike?

 

check the main fuse its a big green 30, also on the exhaust side of the subframe are two relays, i replaced both of em on mine and my fuel pump started working again.

 

all fuses are good gauges light up everything but the fuel pump.... anyone have a PDF manual i can copy if they send me a link? its an 02

 

Try disconnecting the ecu and then connecting it again. Sometimes it needs a "boot".

 

well if ran before...more than likely its something you did and not a bad relay or fuse. my guess since you can hot wire it is the plug is not making the connection. check and clean the plug and if still nothing then you'll have to get the diagram but it's probably something you did when taking it apart

Also check the fuel pump ground.. Does the bike turn over?

 

+1 make sure your plugs getting good connect, sometimes overspray will get the plug nasty

where on the bike is the fuel pump ground?

 

and the relay in the tail section...there is two in the tail right or no? There is a smaller 12v one is that for the fuel pump? or is it the larger one?

if you disconnect the tip over completely will the bike prime?

 

no, everything worked except the fuel pump. its a safety thing so the bike wont start if on its side.... i thnk you can jump it not positive

 

nahhh prob not, no fuel no fire ya know, i think it kill the pump completely
run a wire in tha **** and tape it up, no more prob....but bike wont die if its flipped over
its the oputside of the 3 wires....gett rid of that ****................

 

I bought an f4i that wasn't starting, and I'm currently trying to figure out whats wrong. It looks like the bike was looped an then some kids tried to put it back together and sell it, it primes, an turns over, but won't start.
