what idle to run on 04 636
Re: what idle to run on 04 636
well really, idle is going to be a personal level set based upon preference. Certain people are nose heavy, others are tail heavy in their riding style, if that makes sense. Gearing significantly changes rpms as well, as does your weight, how you're feeling that day, how touchy your brake is.......
If I were you I would start real low, 21 or 22. Then work your way up. I wouldn't start really high and run the risk of stalling it trying to catch bp, subsequently karate chop/moustrapping it and hurting the bike and yourself. It took me about 2 or 3 hours of very occaisionally changing it to find my sweet spot.
I'm tail heavy, tend to slow up quite a bit. I ran 13 up in the rear, no fairings, shitty handbrake, and I liked 3100rpms personally. But hey, I wouldn't recommend listening to anyone else on idle. Figure your own sweet spot and ROCK IT:YEAH
p.s. this setup was for an 04 636. I miss her!
