Thumbs up Is +7 a good set-up

Got a 07 gsxr, got 905 cages on and wanna get the power i had before without the cages. +7 should be well enough but nothing crazy, probably only loose 25 mph or so. my buddy has +10 and he lost thirty mph. Just need some advice from some of you guys. Thanks

Re: Is +7 a good set-up

dont go to extreme start with 7+. if u shorten it too much u'll be shifting a lot.
that sounds good.but if it goes 159 i wold woory about loosing 20 mph.

Re: Is +7 a good set-up

how does putting cages on it really give you that much of a power loss?

He probably didnt get the lightweight racing levers to make up for the weight gain

no they're not. 905, fi, si, pretty much all weigh the same.. my tygershark weighed a lot more than the others. and 10 pounds isn't gonna make a noticeable difference.

Re: Is +7 a good set-up

i was being partly sarcastic, they are heavier...slightly, but it doesn't matter, a 450lb. bike isnt gonna notice 15 lbs.

Re: Is +7 a good set-up

I know, I was able to pop a 2nd gear sitdown from 25 all the way to 50 before no problem, even riding 3rd gear freeway wheelies, put the cages on and 2nd gear sitdowns wont come up after about 40. Just askin about a sprocket because I want it to be a little easier. Thats why I posted about a +7 sprocket to see if anyone had one to see the difference.

Re: Is +7 a good set-up

the only cages that are noticeably heavier are tygershark because they're solid tubing end of discussion.
