Was doing a stand up yesterday....has I was coming up and adjusting the height my left side rear set broke ( bolt thats hold it on ) .... I know exactly what happen when it done....I camed down find but I was 80miles from my house and now second in 2nd gear . Got to my boys house...bust put the zip ties....click it to 4th and let it and road home with my leg on the passenger peg . This is the 2nd time I have bust this bolt. I tried last time to get a strong bolt and was advised that the stock is the highest grade ( wish I dont believe realy) am 6'4 and about 230lbs. I know you lot stunners jump all around your **** ( Number#2 straights kills it ) what grade bolts are you guys using. I have a 03 R1 . Thanks

Have you been dropping your bike hard?

I have a hard time believing a rear set bolt just breaks off from riding on it..

Now if it hit the ground, and fractured the bolt, then it makes sense

You should know where to go for fasteners! Home depot son!

No but really, I usually go to an Ace Hardware, they always have every bolt 95% of the time.

Re: Rear Set Bolts...Keep Breaking !!! Advise Needed

Do staggered and stand on your passenger peg. That wont help the bolt from braking but will be easier on your arms. But on the topic, I took off my peg the other day and noticed that the bolt that was holding it on is bent a little. Ive been meaning to go get a grade 8 bolt but ive been lazy. Ima go get one now. Sorry I was of no help

Re: Rear Set Bolts...Keep Breaking !!! Advise Needed

Question for those people recommending a grade 8 bolt. Are you just running a nut at the end with some loc tite or what? Or do you drill a hole through the bolt for a cotter pin like the stock setup
