throttle cams
Re: throttle cams
it's what your throttle cable attaches to. as you rotate the throttle tube, the cable gets wound around the throttle cam. a different profile cam alters how the throttle works
Re: throttle cams
Or the part on the throttle bodies that the cable hooks into?
The throttle tube on the handlebars, is already the smallest possible one on hondas.
And I've never heard of anyone changing the thing on the throttle bodies

Re: throttle cams
Why would you want this, seriously? The only reason I would ever change it is if I had a drag bike and just wanted to go from 0-WOT in a hurry and I would get a 1/4 turn.
I don't really see how this throttle here is going to help. Why not just learn w/ your stock one like everyone else? Everone's always looking for the easy way out these days. Practice.

Re: throttle cams
yes on the handlebars. the aftermarket cams I've been looking at aren't round, which allows for more control. they list them for honda's but mostly cover dirt bikes. I emailed them to see if they have any applications that would work with my bike. I don't see why they wouldn't, they're all 7/8" bars right?

Oh well the thing is, the SMALLER the throttle tube, the easier the throttle is to control. And the bigger the tube, the snappier and quicker the throttle turn is..
The thing is, honda street bikes, already have the smallest possible throttle tube to fit on a 7/8" bar
Bikes like the r6 and R1 however, can benefit from changing out throttle tubes, because there throttle tubes are bigger, kind of like the ones in your picture.
edit: and in that picture, I'm not exactly sure the fact its 'flat' is whats making it easier to control, its just the fact that the ones that are flat, are slightly smaller, so it pulls less on the throttle cable.
But honda's are already as small as you can get pretty much :YEAH

I'm not necessarily taking the easy way out, if I wanted to do that I'd get an f4i or 636, just trying to speed up the learning curve a bit.
Re: throttle cams
and while we're at it why doesn't everyone learn with stock gears and stock clipons? and who needs a HB anyways, everyone needs to learn a little throttle control.
