stand up problems
stand up problems
Sup ppls, as the title says im haveing problems doing stand ups, mainly because im 5'4 and some change 5'5 rounded off
. any ways when im in the stand up position it just feels like the bike is gonna just fly out from under me, so i really lack the ***** of clutching it up as hard as i would when sitting. if any one has some tips on this issue please feel free to chime in. thank u's

The bike will not shoot out unless you gas it too hard at once. Like what happens in power wheelies.
Being a little short should help you be able to stand in the "up right" position more comfortably.

Re: stand up problems
wow standing up is the way i started out and it felt 10x more comfortable to me than sitting down. especially if your short you gotta peep through the windscreen or hang off the side and it feels like the bike is overwhelming. if your standing up you can use tons of body english and its more like you are standing over the bike controlling it.
Re: stand up problems
Well i would start just trying staggered(right foot on the rear foot brake left foot on the pass peg), try to lock your left knee and clutch it up.. You dont have to clutch the livin hell out of it or anything just start easy and proggressively get higher. The key is to start learning to use the rear brake without even thinking of it, so everytime you clutch it up hit the rear brake to bring the front down a little. After a while your be getting higher and higher and more comfortable. After a few hunderd times your start hearing the engine lose r.p.m.s and your be right where you need to be.... oh yea ,,, i would start tring in second, thats how i learn back in the day................ Whats everyones elses opinion?

Re: stand up problems
^Me too. I did sit downs forever before I grew my ***** and tried a stand up. They felt super weird at first, but after I did them over and over, they started to feel more natural. One thing that really helped me with them was slipping the clutch with one finger instead of two like I do with sitdowns. Slipping with two made it feel like I didn't have a firm grip. Oh, and I'm only 5'6" or so, so I know what you mean.
Re: stand up problems
ur height has nothing to do with it. im only 5'6 and its never caused a prob for me or my best friend who is 5'4. just takes time, everythng new feels wierd, if it didnt we'd all be pros first week of riding.

Re: stand up problems
Dude if you can slow a sit down to 19mph you will kill it on stand ups. They are way more comfortable and i always felt safer because i could just bail if i knew i was about to crash... Dude your right then GROW SOME *****... Watch i bet you can go out and have staggers on lock tonight!
Re: stand up problems
Yep, thats the spot. I don't live in sarasota though. Your a little far from my area. I was hoping to hear your from Highlands county. I have no one to ride with in my area.

Re: stand up problems
Good luck man. I haven't found anyone local yet that will stick with it.
