F4i Electical Problem.. Bike Shuts off in Wheelie

When I was out in Cali I flipped slow stoppie. Ever since I've been having electrical problems. After I iced my knee i went to ride . I got it on idle turned 1/4 turn in the circle and the but shut of completely no power or anything

Checked and the main was blown. Put another one in and it blew again once i was in an idle wheelie. Anyhow, next day Scott was cool enough to hook me up with a wiring harness replaced the harness. Was still having problems with it not priming the fuel pump. Found out my ignition went to ****.

Came home to AZ and replaced the ignition with #2s old one. Bike ran fine for like 3 sessions then just up and shut off in a circle again.

Came home pulled the front part of the harness out of the bike

started the bike

shook the top and bottom harness and battery tray area... nothing happens

checked an no exposed wires

put it back together rolled around apts for 5mins and it worked fine

got to the spot on sunday..

ripped up some power wheelies about 1/2way to bp then slammed em them down hard. I did that like 6 times
bike ran fine no problems.. clutched it up got on idle did 2 circles then it shut off. I'm completely clueless.. ANyone else have this issue before.

Btw everytime is shuts off it blows the main fuse and it's only when I"m like in an idle wheelie

I know something is grounding i'm sure I just can't figure out what..

Checked my tip over wiring which is hardwired with solder... pulled on that and nothing

Now I'm going to be circle guy because I'll never want to try to do anything fast on this thing

DOES THE MAIN BLOW WHEN YOU FIRST PUT IT IN OR AFTER AWHILE, THE MAIN WILL BLOW IF THE REGULATOR IS BAD AND OVERCHARGING...... THATS WHAT MINE WAS DOING

A SHORT OR SOMETHING THATS DRAWING TO MUCH CURRENT! CHECK THE WIRES OFF THE REGULATOR, SEE IF THEY GET HOT HELLA QUICK!

Brothers 03 CBR600 wouldnt fire up because one of the wries split on the inside. Not crack or visual damage to the wire outside at all but it was split on the inside after he wreck. Maybe when you went over it stretched and split a wire? Just something to check. Then again it could just be a honda thing

check that other ignition you put on. those wires on the inside under the cover break off and will ground out inside there. I had it happen on my last f4I. honda sells the new ignition switch that bolts on to the lock tumbler for like 35 bucks.

Re: F4i Electical Problem.. Bike Shuts off in Wheelie

i think its better for you to get new wiring harness so that way you wwouldnt have to waste your time looking for one small wire got shorted out which that may be never noticeable. so get new wiring harness for durty cheep on ebay.

Re: F4i Electical Problem.. Bike Shuts off in Wheelie

Well he said he tried a new harness from another bike and Im taking it as the other harness worked. Id go with what DEBO said and start tracing things till you can figure out whats causing it. Im voting tip over sensor . Kickstand not so much cause really no movement in the air by that. He said its only during O's so Im going for tip over sensor. Start up after you sit it down?

Re: F4i Electical Problem.. Bike Shuts off in Wheelie

Yeah i might be but why does the fuse only blow when I'm in an idle wheelie? The bike runs perfectly fine on two wheels

you know thats a good question, the rpms have something to do with how the regulator works, when your in low rpms it has to draw more current from the stator, when in higher rpms, draws less but the regulator works harder.....something like that i think...... but mine would die on idle too, did you check how hot the wires coming off the regulator got?> right when you start it if they get warm very quickly its probably bad!
