Re: Yet another First Tank Dent thread

Way too far back, the lip doesn't look like it'll support you at all when doing an actual wheelie.

+1 on the lip, the tank looks good though. i put some surf grip with a kick lip and my tank is way better than the top dent style i switched from .

Re: Yet another First Tank Dent thread

looks good man. just laid bondo on my new tank. going from a top-dent, to an o-town. i cant combo on that topdent...too close to the bars.

i think mine might be even further back than yours. ive used stomp grip and liked it, but i think im going to go to a surf board grip this time around.

Nope sure didn't. To lazy for that lol. Whys that? Ive heard storys of guys doing on it steel benchs or cement ground so it dents the hell out of the bottom of the tank and dosn't fit right anymore! Is that why you ask?

Yea, it pushes the bottom down and the top of the airbox hits the bottom of the tank. Thats why you do the major denting on the bike and then you can take it off to do the touch up ****.

Ok makes sense. I thought about somthing like that so i did it in my living room with half a foot of foam padding under it to take to force. i didn't see any damage on the bottom of it.
As for how far back it is, i rode my buddys his felt really cramped with his dent father forward. Guess we will find out soon enough
