ok, so i'm trying to rig somethin up to my "teach" step to put it up and down. i want to use an actuator(linear) (electric or air). so whats the smallest actuator i could buy that would work. also, if i use an air driven act., could i use two co2 canisters(one empty)?

 

Would be good if you could hook it up to a "Stoppie Flip Sensor" so as it approaches your head it will flip back in and only smash you with a soft seat.

na, it's a simple concept(failproof). i work on an assembly line at work and these things(small, large) are incorporated into everything and never fail(+ they cycle about 12,000 times a day). just a piston in a cylinder(either air driven or electric motor). i'd like to put the step down for endos and know i'll never do it manually(takes to much time).

Go with electric, they are so easy and reliable. air would be a pain in the *** and would have to keep pressure (adding to what could go wrong) electric it either works or it doesn't. Metra electronics has a bunch of them, I built this car a long time ago and used a **** load of them to open the doors, the hatch, etc and they never failed even under ridiculous loads
