she is dying!!! f4i help
Re: she is dying!!! f4i help
Can you duplicate the problem with it running in neutral on two wheels and jouncing/rebounding the suspension (pushing the bike's forks and rear shock up and down)? If it did it on one wheel, try starting with the rear end. I'm not saying this is a mechanical/hydraulic problem, but at least you will be able to further diagnose it without being in a wheelie
Re: she is dying!!! f4i help
oh and i just went to the spot and check alot of ****.... my airbox plug was unplugged the hole time.... then when i plugged it back in my **** started sounding like a ******* vtwin for sure!!! then i unplugged it and it sounded fine till i rode off and the vtwin came back.....
Re: she is dying!!! f4i help
haha i know that buddy.... im scared about that also.... but if i cant get my baby f4i running good then ill just bring that as backup!!!

maybe get a buddies bike and pull both tanks up and run through all that **** to make sure none of your stuff got jumbled...
but off the top of my head, make sure whatever you have bi-passed on the bike has not come loose, check the tip-over switch/or the by-passed one, check the ground wire(both on the frame and also on the main block), check the wires underneath your ignition switch(one of my connections came loose one time) and it took a couple hours to figure that one out..... and maybe your on/off switch wiring could be fugged as well.....
can't think of anything right now.... good luck...
Re: she is dying!!! f4i help
fuel pressure regs are notoriously bad on F4i's. guru.. I had similar **** on my F4i, the wires going into the ecu were getting chewed up and being ground through, maybe its a thing with "plus sized riders"
Re: she is dying!!! f4i help
turn the ignition off, take your seat off, short the service connector with a jumper wire, turn the ignition to on and the kill switch to run, if the MIL on the gauge stays on(the ecu doesn't recognize a problem), if the mil blinks(you have a problem). the #of blinks tells you whats wrong. can't get much more straightforward than that.
note: here where it gets a little complicated(WHEN THE INDICATOR LIGHTS FOR 1.3 SECOND IT IS EQUIVALENT TO 10 BLINKS) eg. if the indicator blinks for 1.3 second, then two blinks, the blinks=12.
there're 33 codes, so let me know what you get and i'll tell ya what it means

Sounds like the problem I had with my F4I a few months ago the fuel pressure regulator went out and it sounded like a Vtwin, every time I went to give it some gas in a wheelie it would die out and nearly kill my self. Easy way to check the regulator drain your oil smell for gas in the oil. If the regulator went out gas will be in your oil. That is how i figured mine out. also remember to change the oil filter and oil.

Yeap sounds like what happened to mine! changed the fuel pressure regulator and the OIL and OIL filter a few time to make sure all the gas was out of the oil. Runs fine like a
now.

If I remember correctly its on the fuel rail not 100% sure though check and make sure.
It doesnt take that long just move the gas tank and you can get to it really easy 2 screws and 2 hoses. just get ready for a lot of gas to come out when you take it off is all I can worn you about.

Re: she is dying!!! f4i help
its a "streetfighterz" bike.....it shoulda been retired LAST year for a new F4i and its just aging! Countless hours on the rev limiter with no pipe makes ur bike hate you, not to mention your neighbors!
Re: she is dying!!! f4i help
fpr are on the back left corner of the tb assm.
the rubber diaphragm breaks down and that lets fuel flow from the rail into the #2 cyl via the vacuum line.
