Exclamation Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

To start off I wanna say I have been riding on 07 gsxr6.. Ive had a wreck and ive had stupid fall overs.. it was my first bike and now that I am a more educated rider I think its time to get up with the big boys. Im 5'6, 170.. so when i sat on a busa i felt pretty small. but the new gsxr1 is just like my 600 so I was kind of wanting something different. I like turns, wheelies, cruising, racing etc.. So it all boils down to which one should I get? I know the gsxr1 doesnt get pulled on too hard by a busa but I love the way the busa looks. Well I really like the way both of them look.. I do plan on doing alot of good riding soon, 3-4 hr trips so Ive been leaning to the busa.. IDK guys what do you think???
(Either bike would be an 08 version)

Re: Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

If you were an experienced rider you would know to go with the gsxr 1000. You cant turn a busa like a 1k the 1k is not that far behind in power. Busa's are overrated. Also if the 1k isnt engough do like I did and put a turbo on it forged rods and pistons 308whp 9psi

Just saw you were lookin at 08 busa, those look like a pile of dog ****.

Is a 1000 really that good for cruising? Busas have big comfy seats and no they dont look like a pile of dog ****..
Oh and why would I put all that in a 1000, if u put that kind of work in a busa ud push more hp and tq if thats what u were looking for.. :P

They are comfortable you can get in the turns with them. If you go to some twisties the 1k will leave the busa in the dust and it wont catch it in he straights.

As far as spending money on the 1k I think it looks better than the busa, The 1k is a bit lighter than the busa so dollar for dollar the 1k will walk all over the busa proved this many times, long story short busa's are played out.

Re: Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

http://www.factorypro.com/dyno/true1.html

I dunno how true that is, and it doesnt say a year on the busa, butttt according to that the 06 1k makes more power stock than a stock busa I know the 05 06 1ks make more than the say 04 or so but the new busa's should make more.

I dont know you but unless you weigh 300lb you'd be happier with the 1k plus the 08 1k's have a mode you can switch to 750 an 1000 hp levels depending on what you are wanting to do. good luck with your search.

Re: Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

The new 1000's make like...165hp? Do you NEED more power then that? haha. If you want to turn bang and stunt then the Busa shouldn't even be considered. Can the Busa bang turns and stunt? yes it can I've seen it done before. But is it as good as a GSXR1000? Of course not. If your mostly just going to be doing long distance riding more so then stunting and turns then maybe consider the Busa due to overall riding comfort.

Re: Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

I have an '07 GSXR 600, it's my first bike. I bought it in Sept last year and have 13k miles on it so far. I dropped it in my drive way once, thinking the kick stand was down. I've yet to lay it down while driving *knock on wood* but one day I'm sure it'll happen.

but come on... is 160 mph not fast enough for you? you haven't said anything about track, so I don't assume you ever plan on taking it to the track. But I ride my bike every day, and yes, I've topped it out dozens of times, sure, I'm not trying to be hypocritical here, nor sound like a pro, because I am not. which is why i have to say, until you can master the performance of a 600 why would you even consider getting a bigger bike?

you mentioned long rides... why not get a cruiser?

Re: Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

busa's are retarded. they weigh like 50lbs more than a 1000, go 5 mph faster than a 1000, look so much dumber, and cost like $3000 more.

Re: Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

if you really want a busa.. you gotta get the older unrestricted models. where you can go 190+ out the box.. if speed is what youre looking for.
and if i were to get a gixxer 1000 it would be a 03-04 only..

Re: Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

Gix 1000 = Gay
Hayabusa = GayER

But, I'd with with Gay over Gayer!

Re: Hayabusa vs GSX-R1000

If you buy the Busa it will be to long to wheelie and will need extensive turbo modifications, just to get your wheelie going.
