tank dent probs
im workin on my first dent now, and in some areas its kinkin up... like a little area will be a 1/4" higher than surrounding areas..am i fucked on this? how can i remedy...thanks
Re: tank dent probs
You do have to watch out because it will crack if your not carefull. Of the few tanks I've helped dent, the kinked areas that your talking about haven't really been fixed. I think bondo is your best bet after your done. But I'm no expert tank denter either so you may get better advise from others.
Re: tank dent probs
i've used a couple methods.....
A: jump on it to get it started....heels in center of where your dent will be. finish it off with a rubber mallet and towel.
B: place half a phone book on top and do initial dent with that.....finish off with rubber mallet.

Re: tank dent probs
i started by jumpin on it, did some more hammerwork last night and about to go try and finish up the dent process before i get into the bondo.. let you know how it turns out..thanks
