600 Rr Forks????
600 Rr Forks????
I have an 06rr and my front tire seems to rub on the radiator, I cheated a little bit and got some more length, but is there a better fork set-up to put on it like 1000rr?, or the hoe-hey triple and just drop them down?

Re: 600 Rr Forks????
If your tire hits your radiator, either your frame or forks are bent, your radiator isn't mounted right, or you have your bike lowered..
They don't rub from the factory!

Re: 600 Rr Forks????
On a 600rr they rub?
Re: 600 Rr Forks????
the clip-ons are on the bottom the fork tubes are level with the top of the triple, and the bike is strait, it's just so it rubs, i noticed just a tiny drop of antifreese and wanted to solve, and i just got my fork seals replaced a week ago.
Re: 600 Rr Forks????
anyway, im thinking of conventional forks(they have lines). no lines with the inverted 600rr forks(clicks i think), but its the same concept. adjust your preload adjuster(the large nut on the top of the fork) in(some) and your ride height will raise. that should do the trick.
Re: 600 Rr Forks????
try this: set-preload(top nut)=2 turns out from full in
compression adjuster(top screw)= 1 1/2 turn out from full in
rebound adjuster(bottom screw)= 1 1/2 turn out from full in
if the front end lands too hard after that turn the preload out another turn and compression and rebound out another 1/2 turn.
compression adjuster(top screw)= 1 1/2 turn out from full in
rebound adjuster(bottom screw)= 1 1/2 turn out from full in
if the front end lands too hard after that turn the preload out another turn and compression and rebound out another 1/2 turn.
Re: 600 Rr Forks????
If you haven't braced your radiator with aftermarket brackets, then the stock brackets, when you drop your bike, will bend, and rip open you radiator!
I'm dealing with that **** right now on my f4i.. Dumped my bike, didn't even touch the radiator to the ground, just from the bike 'jolting' around, ripped a hole in my radiator

Are you SURE the radiator fluid is coming from your tire rubbing the radiator?

Re: 600 Rr Forks????
yeah, thats bad. the front end must feel like ****.
edit on my last post. if your used to riding it all full hard then try this
set-preload(top nut)=2 turns out from full in
compression adjuster(top screw)= 1 turn out from full in
rebound adjuster(bottom screw)= 1 turn out from full in
and get your forks done again and this time get heavier fork oil and that should hopefully solve your problem. (you should be able to reuse your new seals)
one more thing... where on your radiator is it rubbing? is there a mark or a dent or something?
