Re: Progression?
hate to be an *******
but if your avatar is current, you are still just learning, therefore you have taken pictures while just learning
edit: for anyone that is actually INTO the threads real topic
I learned on a 50, riding 2-4 hours a day almost everyday for a year lol... Got a lot of **** on lock on the 50.. Then stepped up to the 150 and f4i at the same time.. Although I put almost all my time into stunting the 150 and 50.. And just rode highway on the f4i for about a year.. Before I recently finally started to ONLY stunt the f4i.. Now the 50 and 150 only see dirt
This is about 1 month after I started wheeling sport bikes (about 2 months after purchasing my f4i) I got highway and 30mph+ wheelies down pretty fast, but took FOREVER to lock in slow wheelies
These pictures are when I first started to learn to hold about 15mph steady wheelies.. But 15mph came with the occasional accidental scrape that scared the **** out of me
no hand brake about 3 months into sport bike stunting
After the above pics, like 2 weeks after learning idle... I kinda gave up on sport bike stunting for the time.. I was just getting good on the 50 and 150, and I was loving them... It was boring doing just straight line idle on the f4i, compared to ripping cirlces, and combos on the 150/50....
But after about a year of NEVER really stunting the f4i, or practicing in a parking lot.. I finally went back out, on my friends bike with gearing, and in ONE day learned idle on gearing, sit down idle, and a bunch of other stuff
Pic of first day doing idle sit downs
Then about 2 weeks after my friend got gearing, and about 3-4 sessions on his bike with gearing, I tried circles.. Took me 1 day to nail 2 complete TIGHT circles in 1 parking space...
Then I finally quit being a dumbass and put gearing, a good hand brake, and a 12 bar on my f4i and started learning **** on my bike(I could already scrape stock plastic tail, and I could already rock balance point SS's and spreaders for miles with no hand brake)
And about 4 months after finally getting my bike stunt 'approved' I got some decent stuff on lock on my bike.. I can regularly hit 6+ circles in staggard, or foot on seat and brake... I can SOMETIMES do 50foot+ no handers, but I usually can't go far on no handers yet, and I can rock 100+ foot coasters no problem
Btw it seems like the better I get, the farther I wanna go in stunting... At first it started as just wanting to learn balance point on the 50 and I'd be happy.. Then it turned into just learning circles on the f4i and I'd be happy..
Now all I want is to learn DOPE **** on the f4i.. circle combo's, 300foot+ endo's, off peg coasters...
Stuntlife imo is a good and bad thing.. its a good thing because I learn a lot, and steal a lot of peoples style/tricks.. lol... But its bad because every time I come here, and see these guys kill it, I realize that I'm not that good, and I'm still only just starting to lock in the BASICS..

Re: Progression?
hahahah yeah but don't feel bad, there are people like me who are just starting now doing highway stand ups, and having a tough time with slow ****, looking at you thinking that you are good

Re: Progression?
I learned to wheelie on my buddies quad, this one below.
Bought this from a friend and learned to wheelie a little better.
Sold the quad, got this 929 in late 06 (my first bike), learned to ride, stoppie and wheelie.
Sarted using the rear brake and slowing them down.
Got rid of the 929 and bought a 636 just for the lots. I told myself at this point I was going to learn slow **** no matter what. I was really going to go for broke at this point.
Time frame is mid 2007.
Now, I have busted 636 that I'm working on and I'm killing my new daily rider, an 07 zx6.

Re: Progression?
As everyone can notice, if you look at my pics, I quickly gave up the kelm stare.. First 2 pics = kelm stare, rest = normal riding

Re: Progression?
I had the kelm stare pretty bad too in the first few pics of me on the 636.
