Re: scotts dampner too stiff

if its not on your bike yet it may feel stiff but on your bike it should hardly even be noticable on the lowest setting. i think its 24 clicks counterclockwise from from the hardest setting (it stops clicking turning it clockwise)

When you go from not having anything to having a dampener of corse it will feel stiff. You will get accustome to it.

Re: scotts dampner too stiff

u can adjust the degree of were u want the dampening to start and stop from side to side so u might have it set up wrong if has dead spot in it, u can set it to only dampen in the center but when u turn the wheel it will lose dampening up to curtin degrees of the wheel turned, or u can set it to dampen from lock to lock

Re: scotts dampner too stiff

Is the arm going to the tank mount long enough and have some space to move freely on the tank pivot bolt? If not it will feel like it binds up...Scotts IMO are excellent.

Re: scotts dampner too stiff

I like my scotts........if you think it's too stiff are you turning it more than one revolution? it's not like a gpr where all the settings are in one turn, I tend to like mine about 4 clicks off of full stiff.

well there might be something wrong with my scotts then , cause 4clicks off full stiff feels like my steering is locked in place

Re: scotts dampner too stiff

If you have it mounted slightly wrong, it will feel that way. Make sure the base is flush with the triple and then adjust it all the way off and you should not even be able to tell there is a dampner on there. I love mine. Easy to use, no dead spot and great dampening. Only issue I have had is that if you wreck hard with it on, it will actually torque the whole assembly off line and you have to undo all those little allen head screws to get it back centered. A bit annoying, but it holds up to some abuse!
