Sprocket Overkill????
do people actually stunt voretex's 74 tooth rears? what is the biggest rational size rear someone uses on a daily basis and what is absolute overkill.....or doesn't really matter......your thoughts

rational for what purpose? for a bike that is ridden on the lot and the street? or a bike that is trucked out to the spot each time?

Re: Sprocket Overkill????
strickly lot bikes.. slow technical freestyle.....which is what i only do...thats why i was curious about these bi MO' FO' rears.. and if they are beneficial at all....
Re: Sprocket Overkill????
its all preference. try a couple different things and see what you like best for your riding style. gearing makes a huuuuuuge difference, even a couple teeth. so be safe when switching sizes

hey i stunt a dirtbikew/ a stock 57t. i believe, and found, that if your in the right gear u can do any stunt. all a sprocket does is lie to your bike, u might b in third pulling a power wheelie, but the gearing makes u feel in 2nd anyway. and u have to shift much more. gearing can definiatly help w/ throttle control, but might make it harder to shift during some wheelies.

I had a 66 a while back. It was real fun for learning new circles, but it would hit the ground in fast wide ones. Because of that, 63-64 is the biggest id go on a lot-only bike.

Dirt bikes are geared for low end, and have tons of low end torque, so stock gearing is all you need..
