painting sprockets??

ive got a renthal sprocket thats a gold color and i see some guys paint their sprockets. i was wondering what paint you guys use if its just a spray paint or what? or if it chips easy because i ride my bike on the street a lot too.

I just used .98 cent. spray paint from wal-mart. I ride the streets and no chips.

spray paint sounds tempting and ive called a few powder coat places that require a 400 dollar minimum or some crazy **** like that

crush up some live savers and sprinkle the dust before painting... If your into snorting ****, give it a run

Red ones work the best, you can blame the nose bleed on the life saver color as well

Painted mine with spray paint. Make sure you put a thick clear coat because if you want to keep it clean then you'll have to have a thick layer of clear coat so you can clean off chain grease without eating through paint.

regular spray paint is fine. get a red scotch brite to the clean/prep it with, the mask off the teeth (if you dont do this the paint edge will lift once the paint wears off the teeth).

rustoleum or better yet, i got that metal x paint from walmart clearance $0.98, sprayed it on my entire sprocket, no chips no nuthen
