Origins and diffusion of stuntriding

Hi My name is Quinn Fuglestveit, I'm a stunt rider and I am currently working on a University thesis which involves the origins and diffusion of stunt culture in north America and I'm trying to track it down and map it. I know "Gary Rothwell is widely recognized as the man who launched the American sportbiker's current love affair with wheelies, stoppies and burnouts. From the streets of Cannery Row in Monterey, California,". Was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on getting lists of dtunt DVDs so I can find out which ones/groups produced the first video's (which I am going to use as an indicator). I'm using my hometown of Calgary Alberta Canada as a case study. Any tips pointers on finding lists of DVD's created, dates of production, or anything else which would help me figure out the diffusion of Stuntriding across north america would be fantastic! thanks for your help everyone!
-Quinn

as much as I hate to say it, check out the Las vegas extremes. they have been around since the dinosaurs. Starboys and streetfighters have also been around a while, but there are many others that were before them.

indeed!!

most influential OG's for me in the early years where

Douge Wheelie king Domokos , AC farias , Wink 1100 , Jason Britton , Starboys , Streetfighterz , & JT holt ....... in that order

These Guys are the reason I started riding (over 10 years ago now)

Although I hate to admit it (Because I dont like JB's attitude & understanding of the sport now) "Urban assault" was played at least 5 times a day for a two year period of my life!! lol & the first "road rage" DVD .. my god ! I thought that was sooo nasty!! Then DVD's like the Judgment day & urban street bike warriors series came out .....**** just started to get wild!!!! Now look where we are ....

I love this thing we call stunt riding .... for what ever it is ??????????

Thats a good run down there!

THE MAN Domokos->Brazillian riders (AC Farias)-> AC moves to Spain and infects the Euros-> US origins are mixed but Starboyz, LVX, Colbert, Holt, Wink 1100 all start doing their thing. Gary is a large piece of the history but I often see him taken out of the time line and placed wherever people think the beginning is. I also could be wrong, most of my knowledge is from talking to AC and a few others and piecing it together. Johnny is the man for having a good knowledge set!
