Re: headers glowing?

it means the bike is running lean, could be a few thing causing it to run lean though

Re: headers glowing?

i dunno about normal.... but its not unheard of.

When the YFZ450 atv's first came out, they were jetted so lean, they would glow the headers like crazy (even in broad daylight).

EDIT: 10$ says its your exhaust+no tune+ extended period of high rpm. Aftermarket exhaust is gonna cause a lower backpressure, thus leaner, and no tune.....

Re: headers glowing?

5-10 minutes at a constant 8-10k isn't very light riding at all O_o haha...I'm also gonna say your bikes running lean. So either get a power commander and tune it or just stop riding for so long on the highways.

Re: headers glowing?

same thing happened to me with an 03 750 that had a full hindle exhaust. i figured it was just a crappy exhaust. i only had the bike for a couple weeks before i sold it so i didnt really care. looked cool as hell at night, kinda like the brake rotors on nascar cars at the night races
