Running Hot

I'm riding a 2003 600rr and it seems to be running really hot all the time. I know they apparantly run hotter than an f4i, but its running 104+ even during normal road riding.

Tome this doesn't seem normal, but people have said they run hot so was just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this?

Oh and yes it has oil, coolant etc.

Re: Running Hot

pick up some "engine ice" or a similar product to put in with your coolant...i dont run it in my road bikes yet but I want to...used to run it in my dirt bikes and it helped alot...

Re: Running Hot

I'm guessing your talking celcius. normal temps are anywhere between 78C and 100C. The fan comes on at 103C, so if your riding above 104 a lot than something wrong, engine ice worked good in my R1...try it

Re: Running Hot

dealt with the same problem on my 03 as well.. at the shortest red light it would get up to 220Farenheit and at coasting it would stay in the 190's.. on hot days whoa , i bought the bike used so like a month down i flushed all teh coolant and radiator and put in just fresh coolant.. it helped a bit.
or just rig your fan to a switch
