I ride an f4i and have stock gearing.
I need help my bike keeps dying out at BP, I am going 2-5 mph and the **** just dies, I turned the idle up to 2gs, then to 3gs, and had it a 4 for some time but It didn’t help with that. I also would like to know about the clean air mod and the idle mod, is the idle mod just for the idle screw, and is the f2 the one to have? I searched the site for some time and now I just want to do this **** right.

is your tip sensor still hooked up?

 

I have not touched the tip sensor, so how would I know if it has been done the bike will run on its side for some time, I did find that out in the lot? And with the idle and air mod what will they do for me? Plus I have seen that the F2 cable is the long one and the one to us, I would like to keep the idle screw in the spot it is at just make it not so hard to get at to set.

Sorry no black. Ok I see with the (clean air box) mod! Is the idle screw mod just to move it? And is the tip sensor on the kick stand?

 

i thought it was in the head light or something i could b wrong but my buddy unhooked mine a long time ago and dont relay remember

 

I used an F3 cable for my idle mod and its waaaaay long enough routed out the right side between frame and tank.

It's mounted to the top of the headlight, if you are full fairing remove your windscreen and you will see it, it has three wires running into it, you jump the two outside wires together.

I got an 01 f4i also, and i just did the clean air mod and idle mod a week ago. It was pretty easy to do, use a 1/2 inch t-fitting and save the stock clamps, they work alright. I just bought another 01 f4i cable, and it is the perfect length, comes out to the left of the air box and sits right on the stock frame, real easy to adjust. Turned the stock idle cable down to about 11-12 grand and use the second to adjust the idle. The tip-off sensor is going to be right on the top of your stock lights, and i just cut the wires one by one, i believe it went [tip box]---wire----female into male-----wire---on... so i cut before the female and took the red and green wires and wire nutted em, then wire nutted the white wire.
